Project Description

Asia World Port Terminal located along Yangon city river in Myanmar upgraded their high mast conventional lighting to a brighter, more reliable and energy efficient SOP LED lighting system to reduce their maintenance and electric utility cost. They are satisfied with the easy and affordable replacement of lightings.

With long service life of more than 50,000 hours at high ambient temperatures, the SOP LED lightings are targeted to operate for more than 12 years. Apart from consuming lower energy, the SOP LED lightings also cut down maintenance cost significantly by having minimal or no requirement for spares, reducing maintenance man-hours and minimising the port terminal operation down time for rectifying issues from conventional metal halide lamps.

Additionally, the number of light fixtures reduced from 9 to 12 units metal halide lamps per mast to only 6 units SOP LED per mast and yet offered the same optimal lighting for safe operations and terminal security.

  • 432pcs of 1000w Metal Halide (2,175,984 kWh/year) vs 240pcs of 495w SOP LED Floodlight
    (520,344 kWh/year) – 12 hrs operation per day for 40 high masts
  • Savings of 1,655,640 kWh per year which is up to 76% energy savings
  • Return on LED Investment in 1.8 years
  • Reduce maintenance cost and number of light fixtures for each high mast
